This qualitative study using Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR) interviewed six Korean college students who are TCKs to understand their academic stress and coping strategies. Academic stressors identified: language difficulties, interpersonal relationship challenges, learning strategy differences, career issues, and financial difficulties. Coping strategies included preparation and review, help-seeking, group study, goal orientation, self-efficacy, and control belief. The study notes that 45% of Korean TCK returnees experienced anxiety about returning, and 9% expressed complete resistance to returning to Korea. Open access via PubMed Central.
