About On the Move: Transition Programs in International Schools in East Asia
This survey studied the existence and structure of TCK transition programs in international schools with membership in the East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools. Key findings: approximately 20% of schools had no transition program at all; approximately 5% were not aware of a need for one. Of remaining schools, 22% had formal programs while 78% had informal ones. Larger schools tended to have more formal programs. Schools focused heavily on arrival transitions and fewer than a third addressed reentry to the passport culture. The study highlighted a need for schools to develop departure and reentry transition support.
