This Masters thesis from Smith College explored the narratives of adult TCKs (aged 30+) after reentry to the passport culture. Twelve ATCKs who repatriated some years earlier as young people were interviewed. Key findings: ATCKs still feel profound effects of childhood TCK experiences well into adulthood. Working with other TCKs is comparatively more fruitful than working with monocultural individuals. Having a network of people with similar experiences is an important part of success for ATCKs after repatriation. Available open access via Smith College ScholarWorks.
