About Using PE-EFT Techniques for Identity Integration and Grief Resolution in TCKs
This paper explored the use of process-experiential/emotion-focused therapy (PE-EFT) techniques for identity integration and resolution of grief among third culture kids. Key findings: TCKs respond well to PE-EFT because of its foundation in empathy-based approaches. Repatriation is often more challenging for TCKs than initial expatriation. Some TCKs experience stress-induced growth in times of transition and come away stronger. Adaptive emotional regulation can lead to resilience.
